I'm so glad you shared this. A kindred soul. My orderly oasis consists only of my bathroom shelves right now!

Your house looks 'lived in' Simmy! The only clear place I have in the house at the moment is the dining table, suitably polished with a vase of Hyacinths in the middle. I look at the clear table and contemplate....whilst the rest of the house looks as though there has been an explosion! Happy Easter to you and your family!

Love the pics. Your house is so friendly, like you. My quiet spot is my little drawing desk parked in front of an almost floor to ceiling window. It's so nice when the sun is shining.

Our cousins arrive tomorrow - preparing myself for the onslaught of chaos brought about by 5 excited under 10's.

Did you get my e-mail?

The Border Tart

What an inviting workroom - I love the windowseat and all the baskets. I finally launched The Border Tart and would be flattered if you would take a look at it. I'm going to try the curry tomorrow with chicken for friends who are coming over.

One thing leads to another here too. So I have found that it's safer just not to do anything!

I am glad to see that other people have real messes too, because in my life laundry, trash and dishes pretty much rule over my spare time.

Other than that little picking up, your home is very warm, welcoming and full of life. I love the way your little table is sort of inserted in the wall - it gives it a really cozy feel.

It's a sure sign of a creative mind! I know! I've got one too! Oh how I long to have kiddies mess around my house again. Enjoy it now, this all too soon passes...and you are alone again.

my home only on a good day! so glad you shared this.

I think your best plan is to barricade yourself in the sewing room with all the Easter eggs and a good supply of coffee and wait till the storm passes over.

Cristina

I'm getting a very strong feeling of deja vu seeing your "clothes and books strewn about" photos. All I have to do is turn around to see somethings very similar. Thanks for your recent touching and instructional posts! Happy Blogiversary and happy, happy Easter to you and your family, Simmy!

Your room looks great! The rest of the house looks just like mine lol! I wanted to say a great big thank you for your chrochet flower tutorial. I used it to crochet my first flower on my first bag I made this weekend. I didn't do it exactly the same, but your tutorial made is so easy. I thought it turned out pretty cute. THANK YOU!

Thanks for sharing real life Simmy. From the comments above it looks like you are not alone; my place is usually like that too. Crafting is much longer lasting than tidying. I had a friend who had the most immaculately organised pantry. She said that when the rest of the house got too much she'd open the doors and just look in the cupboard! That's what we all need. Just one little tidy, organised spot so that we know we can do it if we want to.
