Happy Easter

Easter3

Well, I managed to find some of the things for the Easter table. Didn't manage to do any new eggs this year and I guess we'll be too busy this weekend with cousins but never mind we have plenty of eggs from last year. I picked the branches hurriedly from the woods and voila.

Easter2Sadly I did not find any of the knitted chicks, the hare, the bread hen or even Mother Earth that I usually have on the table and it's pissing me off because I seem to have looked in every box. Where the heck are they? I suppose there'll turn up somewhere, sometime. Annoying though because I love those little things.

Anyway, I managed to make this out of 'All Year Round' last night. It was a bit fiddly but worth it:

and that's about it I think with regards to Easter decorations.

So here we are on Good Friday which would not be the same without hot cross buns and that's about all I've done this morning. Thankfully, I can show them to you as they look quite presentable.

Hope they taste nice too!

Other than that I want to wish you all a Happy Easter. Hope yours is as good as ours is going to be - restful, relaxing, lots of family time and too much chocolate ........lots o'love.

Just lovely, Simmy- Just so you know you are not the last one to put up your spring/Easter nature table. I still haven't brought out our decorations, with all our remodeling it seemed a little pointless. We colored eggs, brought in some pussy willow branches, and started grass in the girl's baskets but no nature table. I was thinking about making hot cross buns tomorrow and after looking at yours I'm definitely going to make some! They look delicious!

Just beautiful *sigh*.
Once Easter is over I promise I will get to the post office, I'm such a flake...Xxx
P.S. Please come over to mine & tell me where I went wrong...Xxx

Did you go down to the 'out of bounds' woods Simmy?! Your Easter table looks really lovely as does the intricately cut hanging decoration. I must say that those hot cross buns top the lot. You should open a bakery!

Your Easter table looks lovely - our branch doesn't have leaves, but it does have a lot of eggs!

We made hot cross buns too. as usual - I love making them myself. even though they are very cheap and pretty tasty to buy, you can't beat homemade ones. The crosses on yours are much better than mine; and we ran out of eggs so ours are a little bit pallid but they taste fab!

It looks beautiful Simmy! I am so far behind - our nature table is a bit Eastery but my 5-year old is still asking where the Easter tree is....
Tomorrow!

Delightful, Simmy, thanks for the pictures.

Your table and tree look beautiful Simmy, even if it's not as you would have liked it to be! I hope that you and your family have a very lovely and blessed Easter! XXOO

Beautiful table! I just love the branches with a bit of green. Happy Easter to you!

Everything looks lovely! I especially love your rooster and sun scissor cutting! I would love to make it myself. Is "All Year Round" a book? Any info would be most appreciated. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Easter! Patti

Your table is lovely and your eggs are gorgeous. You'll probably find those other Easter things right after Easter. Would love the recipe for your Hot Crossed buns if you have time...that's what I really miss living in the US as I never see them anywhere...

Your table is fantastic and brings a smile to my face. It will be a restful and happy easter weekend.

Your Easter treats and delights are beautiful, Simmy! Happy Easter to you all in your new home! ((HUGS))

Your easter display looks so lovely!

I would like to add you to my blog...is that ok? wonderful blog lots of fun to read

I love the Easter Table .I just had time to check your site. Easter was yesterday, but I am enjoying your eyeing your egg tree and decorations. Thank you for sharing. I have never made a table like that. Looks like a good tradition to start with the granddaughter!

How did I post the same message twice AND make such a typo?! Your not eyeing your egg tree, I am. Ha! I know how I did it. I am plain tuckered out! Easter Sunrise was wonderful, even if it was cloudy and cold. My husband and son helped clean the area, prepare a bonfire and put tiki torches up to help lead people over to the pond in the dark. Nice. Then I had 20 people over for eats and good conversation. I went to work and left early. Had to hit the sack.

I didn't even get to a Spring/Easter table at all. The whole series of events snuck up too quickly. I was still recovering from Christmas!

Love that cut-out dangling bird thing and also that very colorful hen in the top pic.

those hot cross buns are making my mouth water! Great Blog! come visit mine!
